DC: Wallace pushes Boehner on Pledge to America and entitlementsl

On Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace pushed House Minority Leader John Boehner to say why the GOP’s Pledge to America had no planned cuts in entitlement spending. “More than forty percent of the budget, and yet, I’ve looked through this pledge. There is not one single proposal to cut Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid,” Wallace said.

Boehner didn’t answer his question, but said, “It’s time for us, as Americans, to have an adult conversation about the serious challenges our country faces. And we can’t have that conversation until we lay out the size of the problem.”

Wallace pushed him more and said the right time to have that “adult conversation” was during the midterm campaign. “Let’s not get to the potential solutions, let’s make sure Americans understand how big the problem is.”
