Pollster Tom Jensen thinks NC Democrats will keep all Congressional seats

Tom Jensen, director of Public Policy Polling, told Chris Fitzsimon of NC Policy Watch in a radio interview Thursday that he sees North Carolina’s congressional incumbent Democrats winning all of their close races on Election Day.

Jensen said:

“I think all of the Democratic incumbents are going to get re-elected, but it’s going to be close. Etheridge and McIntyre in particular are used to winning by 30 to 40 points, I think they’ll both get re-elected, but it may well be single digits this year, 6 or 7 point range instead of what their accustomed to. Kissell in somewhat of an odd twist could actually win by more than McIntyre or Etheridge, even thought it’s his first term simply because his district is so much more Democratic than theirs is.”

The Cook Political Report rates the 8th Congressional District held by Larry Kissell as a “toss-up,” the 7th District held by McIntrye as “Lean Dem,” the 2nd District held by Etheridge as “Lean Dem” and the 11th District held by Democrat Heath Shuler as “Lean Dem.”
