Florida Race to the Top application rejected

Florida’s application for up to $100 million in early learning federal grant money was rejected today. According to a statement issued by Gov. Rick Scott, his insistence that the grant not come with “strings attached” did not “win the favor” of the agency awarding the funds.

Florida health dept. recommends sharing pill data with other states to thwart drug abuse

Crisis pregnancy centers join anti-abortion groups in support of N.C. ultrasound law

Crisis pregnancy centers have joined anti-abortion groups that filed a motion to intervene in a court ruling blocking the implementation of a North Carolina law that would have forced doctors to show women an ultrasound and describe it to them before providing an abortion.

The anti-abortion groups Jubilee Campaign’s Law of Life Project (LOLP) and the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) have filed a motion to intervene in the injunction of a North Carolina law that would have forced abortion providers to show women an ultrasound and describe it to them before providing an abortion.
