Devin Nunes’ memo stunt fails so epically, even Guns N Roses’ lead singer is calling him out

Axl Rose is best known as the lead vocalist for 90's rock band Guns N' Roses — but his latest starring role is in the Resistance.

Most of us know Axl Rose as the frontman for Guns N' Roses, but the rock singer has taken on a new role in the era of Trump — as a star of the Resistance.

Rose has been a frequent critic of Trump and his policies, but on Friday night, he used his voice to call out a new foe: GOP Rep. Devin Nunes.

As one of Trump's most reliable apologists, Nunes regularly uses his position in Congress to shield Trump from scrutiny and sabotage attempts to hold him accountable.

Doing what he does best, Nunes spent the latter part of this week pushing a conspiracy theory about the Obama administration spying on members of Trump's campaign team — a continuation of the manufactured scandal that forced Nunes to recuse himself from the Russia investigation last year.

In the latest iteration of this myth, Nunes claimed to be in possession of a memo showing that the Department of Justice and the FBI had abused surveillance powers and illegally spied on American citizens. The memo — a confidential four-page document — was compiled by a group of Republicans, including Nunes, who launched their own secret investigation of the DOJ and FBI as part of a broader effort to derail the Russia investigation and undermine confidence in the U.S. intelligence community.

Like Nunes' previous stunts, this one failed spectacularly. There was no scandal, and Nunes was once again caught misleading the public to protect Trump.

But this time around, Nunes' failure was so epic that even 90's rock legends took notice:

In just two words, Rose made clear exactly how he feels about Nunes — to the delight of many Twitter users. And judging by the responses, Rose spoke for a lot of people with his tweet, just as he does with his vocals.

If Nunes keeps up the charade, perhaps Rose will even write a song about him one day — though it certainly wouldn't be a love song.
