Devin Nunes slammed as 'a sycophantic toady for Donald Trump'
One of Nunes’ fed-up constituents absolutely shredded the Republican congressman in a letter to his hometown paper.

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) has made defending and sucking up to Trump his number one job — and the constituents he ignores are fed up, if the letters to Nunes’ hometown newspaper are any indication.
On Wednesday, The Fresno Bee published a letter to the editor from a constituent named Gordon Fake, blasting Nunes as “a sycophantic toady for Donald Trump” who has “deserted his district.”
“In 16 years he has produced no legislation of benefit to the 22nd District,” Fake wrote, adding that Nunes “has destroyed the bipartisan nature of the House Intelligence Committee and weakened the FBI in his effort to defend Trump.”
The Fresno resident urged readers to vote for Nunes’ Democratic challenger, Andrew Janz, instead.
Nunes has, indeed, made a first and second career of serving Trump by repeatedly hatching schemes to undermine special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
His January effort to discredit the Mueller probe by hyping a false intelligence memo earned him the nickname “Trump’s stooge” from the Bee — and near-universal ridicule when the memo turned out to be embarrassing failure that actually debunked GOP attacks on the Russia probe.
Since then, Nunes’ continued efforts to protect Trump have included a plot to oust Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and a relentless effort to publish documents that could endanger national security.
Just last weekend, Nunes joined Trump in attacking the media even after a bomb was sent to CNN headquarters. These irresponsible attacks were yet another effort to undermine the Russia investigation.
The constituent who wrote to the Bee also slammed Nunes for his failure to hold open meetings with constituents, calling him “a ghost in the district” who “only meets with deep pocket donors.”
Indeed, Nunes goes to great lengths to avoid the voters in his district, with whom he has not held an open town hall since 2010.
Nunes recently fled from a coffee shop when two of his constituents tried to talk to him.
And as another Bee reader recently noted, Nunes only bothers to speak with people who already support him, and who can afford to pony up thousands of dollars for fundraisers.
Nunes has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he cares more about sucking up to Trump than he does about his own constituents.
Unfortunately for Nunes, Trump doesn’t get to vote in California’s 22nd congressional district. And the people who do get to vote don’t sound happy.
