Three House committees leading the impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump released the full transcripts of interviews with two key witnesses on Monday morning.

The House released the Oct. 11 testimony of Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, as well as the Oct. 16 testimony of Michael McKinley, a former adviser to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Yovanovitch’s testimony reveals that she felt “shocked” and “threatened” when Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Yovanovitch was “going to go through some things” during a July 25 phone call. It was during that same call that Trump asked Zelensky for a “favor” — to investigate his 2020 rival and political opponent, former Vice President Joe Biden.

A transcript of Mckinley’s testimony shows he was asked about “efforts to use the State Department to dig up dirt on a political opponent,” referring to Biden. In that hearing, McKinley stated that “in 37 years in the Foreign Service and different parts of the globe and working on many controversial issues, working 10 years back in Washington, I had never seen that.”
