The American Independent is seeking an associate editor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in AP style, and able to work independently in a collaborative, rapid-response environment.
Senior Editor
The American Independent is seeking an experienced senior editor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in AP style, capable of developing pitches and collaborating with reporters, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and make decisions in a timely fashion.
Political Reporter
The American Independent is seeking an experienced political reporter to join our growing team to focus on original and enterprise reporting. Ideal candidates will have at least three years of experience writing for online publications in a fast-paced news environment, exceptional news judgment, a solid understanding of national politics, and the ability to write compelling and accurate stories through a progressive lens.
Political reporter (temporary, full time)
The American Independent is seeking two experienced political reporters to join our growing team full time, on a temporary basis. Ideal candidates will have at least two years of experience writing for online publications in a fast-paced news environment, exceptional news judgment, a solid understanding of politics, and the ability to write compelling and accurate stories through a progressive lens.
This particular position will focus on covering Virginia politics in the lead up to the Nov. 2 election. The role extends through Dec. 31, 2021, with a potential for permanent employment afterward.
