The first lady announced in May that she'd promote her signature campaign during her second solo international trip — but she's not.

Melania Trump is traveling abroad this week, but it's not the "Be Best" trip she promised.

The first lady announced in May, on the first anniversary of her "Be Best" youth initiative, that she'd promote the effort this fall on her second solo international trip.

A White House statement at the time stated "the trip is set for the fall of 2019 and will further her commitment to visiting schools, hospitals, organizations, and companies that support children around the globe."

She gave no destination and said details were "still coming together."

But fall is about over and Mrs. Trump hasn't announced a foreign trip. The White House did not respond to requests for comment on the status of her promised trip.

On Monday, she accompanied President Donald Trump to London, where he'll attend NATO meetings Tuesday and Wednesday.

The first lady traveled to Ghana, Malawi, Kenya and Egypt in October 2018 to promote "Be Best."

The first lady's campaign has been the subject of controversy in the past. In the summer of 2018, the New York Times reported that Trump tried to dissuade his wife from going forward with the initiative, knowing it would attract criticism due to his own pattern of using Twitter to harass and bully his critics. Melania Trump ultimately stuck with the platform, but has since announced an expansion of the program to include "three separate pillars of well-being, online safety, and opioid abuse."
