"Morning Joe" mercilessly mocks Trump, Trump melts down on Twitter

After holding a reportedly successful private fundraiser for his re-election campaign at his own hotel the previous night, where he would personally profit because he has refused to divest from his businesses, you would think he would be in a better mood.
But apparently not.
Trump lashed out at “Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski in a disgusting and yet typical Twitter tantrum.
The inspiration for Trump’s melt down? The sheer delight the “Morning Joe” gang took in openly mocking Trump and his fake Time cover.
SCARBOROUGH: At a time when the rich get richer, and the poor are getting poorer at a faster rate than ever before in our nation’s history, this is the point where the Republicans say, “Hey, we got a great idea. We’re gonna cut a trillion dollars in benefits from the poorest Americans, and we’re going to give it to the wealthiest Americans.”
BRZEZINKSI: And this is the president who was going to change Washington.
SCARBOROUGH: What a populist. Oh, way to stand up to Goldman Sachs, Mr. President. We’re really proud of you, buddy. Way to go! Oh hey, you’re a populist.
BRZEZINKSI: Good on ya. Why don’t you get another Time magazine cover?
SCARBOROUGH: Oh, did you see his Time magazine cover?
BRZEZINKSI: Yes! It was so — there are many of them. They’re in his country clubs. So you pay lots of money to go to the country club.
The Time magazine they’re talking about is, of course, the one Trump had made to hang in his country clubs to let his wealthy members know he was on the cover of Time. Except that it is, to borrow a phrase from the president, “fake news.”
UPDATE: Fake Time mag w/@realdonaldtrump on the cover was hung in at least FIVE of his clubs, including Mar-a-Lago. https://t.co/HqnKayHQp3

But the Morning Joe crew was not finished mocking Trump yet.
“Listen,” Brzezinski continued. “Nothing makes a man feel better than making a fake cover of a magazine about himself lying every day and destroying the country.”
And then, to really rub salt in the wound, she dealt out a brutal criticism of Trump’s fake Time cover.
“He’s covering his hands because they’re teensy.”
No wonder Trump lashed out at the “Morning Joe” duo with his particular brand of grotesque sexism and pettiness.
But Brzezinski, er, handed it right back to him:

One can only imagine, if one dares, how Trump will respond next. More sexist attacks? More calls to restrict the free press? An incoherent rant about being the victim of a witch hunt? Another cheap photo op where he pretends to sign legislation?
Or worse.
Welcome to another morning in Trump’s America.
