Republicans fail to pick up Sen. Joe Manchin's seat in West Virginia
Even after Trump personally targeted him for removal, West Virginia voters re-elected Sen. Democrat Joe Manchin.

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin easily won re-election to his seat in West Virginia, despite an aggressive effort by Trump and the GOP to flip the seat.
Trump had a huge victory West Virginia in 2016, easily winning by nearly 42 points. He repeatedly visited the state to back the Republican nominee, Patrick Morrisey. Flipping the seat in the red state of West Virginia was a top priority for the party — one they were fairly confident they would be able to pull off.
But it was for naught.
When it came to Trump’s handpicked candidate or the Democratic senator, voters once again rejected Trump’s demands.
