Trump forces his children on royal family even though they weren't invited

Trump let his kids crash the party, creating an awkward situation for the British royals.

Trump allowed his adult children to crash a visit with the royal family during his trip to London even though they were not invited, according to a Tuesday CNN report.

Queen Elizabeth II invited only Trump and his current wife, Melania, to attend the state dinner at Buckingham Palace. But Trump seemed not to care, and brought along most of his adult children, who seemed more than happy to join, perhaps because they, like Trump, have an outsized sense of entitlement. Trump ended up bringing along four of his five adult children and two of their spouses.

Trump told the Sun, a British newspaper, that he wanted his children Ivanka, Tiffany, Eric and, Donald Jr. to hold a “next generation” meeting with Prince William and Prince Harry. “I think my children will be meeting them,” Trump said. “It would be nice.”

Even though Trump’s entitled children crashed the state dinner, a royal source told CNN that there are no plans for any sort of sit-down meeting between them and British royalty.

In fact, the royals may have attempted to avoid being seen with Trump’s children altogether. “[Prince] Harry appeared to be escorting Trump’s daughter Ivanka; however, when the prince appeared to realize the walkthrough of the exhibit was being filmed, he quickly ducked out of the event,” the Daily Beast reports.

Not only did the royals deny Trump’s children a meeting, Prince Harry and Prince William would not even stand with Trump himself for a photo-op.

This is not the first time Trump has embraced nepotism in hopes of enriching the fortunes of his kids.

Eric Trump defended the practice, saying in 2017 that “nepotism is kind of a factor of life.” Ivanka Trump, who serves as a senior adviser in the Trump White House, confirmed that her father told her she could run the World Bank if she wanted to. Before joining the Trump White House, Ivanka ran a clothing line which eventually folded, due in part to the negative connotation her last name now entails.

Trump’s attempt to force his kids upon the royal family was his latest attempt at nepotism. But instead of a warm reception, Trump faced humiliating rejection at every turn.
