Unhinged Fox host tries to distract from Trump’s shutdown by stalking Hillary Clinton

Fox News’ Judge Jeanine Pirro is poking around the woods in Chappaqua, NY, where she says she is "on the search for Hillary."

With the threat of a government shutdown looming at midnight on Friday, Donald Trump has created a national crisis completely out of thin air in his determination to block legal status for young immigrants — and polls show America is overwhelmingly prepared to blame the GOP for it.

It is clear this is not a winning subject for Trump’s supporters over at Fox News — which is why some of his more egregious water carriers at the network are trying to change the subject.

And no one is going to more ridiculous lengths than Jeanine Pirro, the county court judge turned right-wing media personality.

In a bizarre video posted to Pirro’s Twitter account on Friday afternoon, she can be seen standing in the woods of Chappaqua, New York, where the Clintons live — and, in Pirro's words, where she is “on the search for Hillary”:

“You think I’m gonna find her? You think she’s anywhere around?” Pirro asks in the video. “Tune in tomorrow!”

Pirro has a history of going after Hillary Clinton, stretching all the way back to her days as a district attorney. In 2005, she mounted a campaign to challenge Clinton for her then Senate seat, only to drop out amid polls showing she would lose by 32 points.

But her desperation to come up with a distraction from Trump's mounting troubles is by no means unique, as is witnessed by the aggressive Russian social media campaign on Friday morning to promote a dubious conspiracy memo against President Barack Obama by House Intelligence chairman Devin Nunes.

Even for the most desperate Trump apologist, however, engaging in borderline stalking takes things to a new and disturbing level. If Pirro wants a scandal, she should get out of the woods and head to the White House.
