Warren slams Trump: 'Cannot even make it through a ceremony' without a racist slur

Donald Trump cannot help himself when it comes to racist outbursts. But Sen. Elizabeth Warren put him in his place.

Donald Trump managed to outdo his own appalling bigotry once again, dredging up his "Pocahontas" slur against Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren during an event honoring Native American veterans of World War II.

But in response to Trump's blatant racism and mortifying dearth of tact and humanity, Warren showed the class and dignity that Trump so thoroughly lacks.

When asked about the comment by MSNBC's Ali Velshi, Warren made it clear how completely wrong Trump was, on so many levels.

"This was supposed to be an event to honor heroes," she noted, "people who put it all on the line for our country."

"It is deeply unfortunate that the president of the United States cannot even make it through a ceremony honoring these heroes without having to throw out a racial slur," she declared.

And she made it very clear that Trump's attacks on her have never and will never achieve what is surely his desired result.

"Look, Donald Trump does this over and over, thinking somehow he's gonna shut me up with it," she noted.

"It hasn't worked in the past. It is not gonna work in the future."

In his typically juvenile fashion, Trump has repeatedly lobbed this slur against Warren, who has referenced her Native American heritage in the past.

It was never more than a way to demean her, to engage in his favorite pastime of crude "jokes," and to continue his pattern of applying insulting nicknames to anyone who dares to not like him.

But to say such a thing at an event intended to honor Native American veterans proves that no matter how low Trump sinks, he will find a way to outdo himself.
