Ari Rabin-Havt, CEO
Ari Rabin-Havt is the CEO of The American Independent News Network, Media Matters Executive Vice President, co-author with David Brock of their newly released book, The Fox Effect: How Roger Ailes Turned A Network Into A Propaganda Machine, and host of Media Matters Radio on SiriusXM. Throughout his career he has served as adviser to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, former Vice President Al Gore and on John Kerry’s Presidential campaign. An innovator in the online space, Ari has worked with a variety of organizations including the ONE Campaign, ACLU, the Democratic National Committee, and Planned Parenthood building robust activism campaigns. In addition to to his work at AINN and MMFA, Ari also teaches at the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management.
Hanaa Rifaey, President and Publisher
Hanaa brings diverse experience from advocacy organizations as well as Capitol Hill to AINN. Since moving to DC from Washington state, she has managed campaigns and programs in a variety of issue areas including civil rights, health care, and climate change. Hanaa received her undergraduate degree from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington and her master’s degree at George Washington University in Washington, DC. She enjoys searching for the perfect bowl of pho in her spare time.
Jeremy Schulman, Editor-in-Chief
Before coming to The American Independent, Jeremy spent more six years at Media Matters, where he served as research director and later as director of the investigative reporting team. Jeremy is originally from Denver, Colorado, and graduated from Pomona College with a degree in history.
Beth Eagle, Director of Operations
Beth Eagle joined The American Independent News Network in July 2009 with a background in project management, fundraising, and event management. Previously, she worked at a fundraising consulting firm, most recently serving as the Vice President of Special Projects. Beth has lived in the Washington, D.C. area for over 15 years. She earned her BA from the University of Maryland in Government and Politics and her MA from The George Washington University in Political Management. She lives in Maryland, with her husband, son, and dog.
Chelsi Warner McDonald, Outreach Director and Development Manager
Chelsi is a native of Kentucky, where she earned a B.A. in English from Centre College. Prior to joining The American Independent News Network, she worked in development for the Olney Theater Center in Olney, Maryland. In AINN’s Publishing Department, Chelsi focuses on fundraising and developing communications relationships. She lives in Bethesda, MD with her husband and thoroughly enjoys using the combination egg poacher/ toaster machine to perfect the AINNwich.
