Virginia groups mobilize against abortion bills

Two bills — a “fetal personhood” measure that would define life as beginning at the moment of conception and one that would force women seeking an abortion to undergo a transvaginal ultrasound — have many Virginia voters up in arms, worried that their health is being “attacked.”

Virginia House passes ‘fetal personhood’ legislation

Presidential candidates attack abortion, Planned Parenthood at Personhood USA forum

The anti-abortion group Personhood USA hosted a presidential candidate forum Wednesday night in Greenville, S.C., to discuss the legality of abortion, defunding Planned Parenthood and passing legislation to define human life as beginning at the moment of conception.

Family Research Council backs ‘personhood’ amendment in Florida

Personhood Florida received a major endorsement this week from the Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins. The announcement is significant for the Florida affiliate of Personhood USA, which wants to place a “fetal personhood” amendment on the Sunshine State’s 2014 ballot. (more…)

Personhood Florida launches new petition

A group that wants Florida to define life as beginning at the moment of conception has officially launched its “personhood petition.”

According to the new post on Personhood Florida’s website, the new Florida ProLife Personhood Amendment is based on language endorsed by the Family Research Council and the American Family Association. (more…)
